Journey before destination; We want to create safe structures for work, school, and play. We want to enjoy our work and the projects we are working on. That’s why we say it’s important who you travel with because projects are not successful when the people and firms on your journey are working at cross purposes. So it doesn’t matter to us if it’s a tiny commercial storefront or a campus or a retaining wall or a 6-story apartment complex, but it does matter who we work with. We welcome our clients and sub-consultants as part of the Waypoint family and look for similarly minded firms.

Even though our work is complex, we believe it should be easy for our clients to understand what is going on, why we do the things we do, and how we came to our decisions, and we explain it in a way that doesn’t require a structural engineering degree!

We started Waypoint because we knew the industry needed more than brilliant people. We strive to make things as straightforward as possible. We apply this to our project approach, client relations, and employee relations. In structural engineering, there are a lot of complexities that most people don’t see; there are hundreds of calculations to run for each design element, and there are manuals, standards, and codes to reference that vary from project to project and jurisdiction to jurisdiction. We take someone’s idea for a design or their need for an improvement, and we put the math and strategy behind it to make it safe and perform as intended. We believe what we do is of the utmost importance for every situation, from a small convenience store or pedestrian bridge to our schools, hospitals, and infrastructure.
